It all started on July of 2005...

I had just graduated from college back in December of 2004 and I wasn't really happy with my job. I was working as a sub teacher for 7, 8, 9 and 10th grade. The students liked me, but I had to deal with situations that I never thought I could or would. Between many other situations, I had a students point a gun on me, I had another one putting pubic hair on my table, I had another one throwing a banana on my head. and another one squeezed my butt while i was walking to a classroom. I loved being a teacher, but it wasn't possible. I felt that all I did was make sure they were inside the classroom. It was sad. I wanted a better future, so I decided to come to the U.S to improve my English and be able to work in a Language School when I come back to Brazil. That is when I decided to be an au pair. For those who don't know au pair is a international exchange program in which a girl from another country come to American working and living with an American family taking care of their children.
The first thing I did was make my profile in a website called great au pair. I got a lot of emails right away. I had a degree in education, and experience with children. A family from Daytona Beach Florida got my attention. They seemed really nice, they had only one little girl and she was the most adorable child I have ever seen, they lived right on the beach and the little girl's dad, and grandparents could speak Portuguese. That was perfect! So, after that we did a match and started the process.  I had to to an English test, which I probably got 65% of it at the time. I had to put lots of money on it. I even borrowed money from my brother and then had a very scary interview in the United Of States Sao Paulo Embassy. After that I was ready and excited to experience the American world...And this is when my story starts....
